Osmanthus trees are grown throughout Guilin Park. Located on Guilin Road near Shanghai Normal University, the park was built in 1929 and completed in 1932 as the private garden of Huang Jinrong, the head of the old Shanghai underworld gang.

Nowadays the park is the best destination to enjoy osmanthus in Mid-Autumn Day, with more than one thousand sorts of osmanthus trees grown in the garden. Every mid Autumn day, when the osmanthus flowers flourish, the park is filled with fragrance.
