Huangshan Airport is situated
in the west suburb of Tunxi of Huangshan city,
71 km from Mt. Huangshan scenic area. It covers
an area of 75 hectares with runways 2,200 meters
long and 45 meters wide. Nowadays, it is up to
the state seco nd-class
airport standard, competent for taking-off and
landing for medium airliners like Boeing 737.
So far, there are 21 air routes linking up Huangshan
and Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Xi'an, Guangzhou,
Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hefei, etc. respectively. There
are about 40-50 charter flights between Huangshan
and Hong Kong every week and even more than 90
flights during the peak travel season. Additionally,
the passenger capacity of the airport is expected
to increase to a great extent as it has, ever
since the completion of the airport extension.
Railway transport is the convenient, comfortable
and ideal traveling way especially for medium
and long-distance travelers. Mt. Huangshan has
two railways connecting with cities, ie. Ning-Tong
railway in the north and more importantly Wan-Gan
( Anhui-Jiangxi ) railway in the east. There go
six pairs of passenger trains, one pair of limited
express (Huangshan-Nanjing), four pairs of expresses
(Huangshan-Changzhou, Hefei-Xiamen, Shanghai-Yingtan,
Nanking west-Jingdezhen) and one pair of accommodation
train. However, the extensions for passenger through
transport is comparatively small, which ends at
Hefei in the north, Xiamen in the south, Shanghai
in the east and Nanchang in the west. |
