Qingdao Capriccio

On the train to Qingdao at last! You know, I had rushed to the station in such a haste. When I was running I even wanted to quit the journey. However, I never planned to visit Qingdao in summer. So I insisted upon my first decision, though winter was approaching. For me, waiting for something equaled changing everything around me¡On the train to Qingdao at last! You know, I had rushed to the station in such a haste. When I was running I even wanted to quit the journey. However, I never planned to visit Qingdao in summer. So I insisted upon my first decision, though winter was approaching. For me, waiting for something equaled changing everything around me¡

Watching the sea¡ As a birthday present for myself!

Before I was on the train, I was pocketing out my ticket. The departure time was 15:17, but I mistook it for 15:30. So I waved my friends goodbye, got off the taxi, and began to run carrying heavy luggage. I ran so quickly that the ticket taker did not even punch the ticket for me! Ran! Looking at the empty platform, I thought perhaps that was why I longed for that patch of seawater more and more!

This time I traveled days and days on the train. Though I had traveled by train many times, I could not quite get used to sitting on a train! I just disliked it for no reason! On the train I was always in silence!

Driving nearer and nearer to Shandong! The temperature outside was getting lower and lower, and the clouds in the sky even turned rainy cold. I never knew the weather of Qingdao. How would its winter sea wind be?

It was already bright but I could not find the slightest trace of the sun¡

Three o'clock in the morning.

I was in the strange city. Freezing indeed!

Qingdao AT LAST.

I noticed some distinctive architecture. Heavy flavor of sea products was drifting out of the underground tunnel. At the opposite street, sea wind was blowing.

The sea!

Ignoring the lodging, I had a walk to the beach first! It was the first time I walked onto the soft sand! How I wanted to shout out ¡°Beautiful sea, I have come to you!¡±

A few blocks further there was a spectacular Catholic Church. Walking near I even fancied I was not on the land of China:

A church was stood before me and Maria was in the very center of the garden. I was amazed by the graveness when I pushed open the great, heavy wooden door. The sculptures combined to tell a series of stories of Jesus.

What amazed me most were the four rooms of Reconciliation. The neatly arranged rooms opposite to each other reminded me of a TV show. Though I did not believe in any religion, I still longed for sitting in the room and telling the god father "I am guilty!" as if I would revive after this reconciliation.

Now the window curtain was drawn. So I guessed the godfather should not be in that room!

And there were beautiful window flowers in this church, which were normally only drawn on the windows of foreign churches! I liked this kind of decoration very much! The mural in the middle looked so vivid. I selected a seat on the last row, and sat down in silence: My thoughts even went wondering in a flash, what if I had my wedding ceremony in this place! I would be in a white wedding dress, stepping onto the red carpet. The seats beside me would all be occupied with my relatives and friends, and the godfather were to wait for me ahead of all of them¡That sacred commitment ¡°I do¡± crossed my mind! I burst into laughter, laughing at my own silliness and fantasies! Walking out of the Catholic Church, I could not help looking back. It was the most beautiful Catholic Church I had ever seen.

The street of Qingdao was very quiet, very cold and very unique. I enjoyed walking on it very much! I enjoyed the unique peacefulness, the pure coldness, a street that was different from all other ones! I only needed to watch a single side when crossing the street!

In a slow pace I strolled to the seaside. The sea wind blown into my mouth was truly salty! Then I crept to the dam and leaned on a stone. I light a cigarette in the sea wind, and my thoughts started to flutter.

I enjoyed the winter sea wind! Ate seafood, and drank Qingdao Beer. This patch of sky got dim very early. 5pm, already no trace of the sunlight¡6pm, threshold of the evening. I just wanted to sit on the beach, and watch the sea¡

Allured by the sea. Sand at my feet, I kicked off my shoes, in the cold seaside of winter, ran to the sea! A single girl in the sea wind, turning and laughing without any restraint!

Qingdao, I am in love with you!

At midnight, it was too cold to keep asleep, and at 10 am, I was wide awake in coldness a second time! Outdoor, see, the sun rays! I said to myself: ¡°Kangqiao, happy birthday!¡± The second day of my journey to Qingdao, the clear sunrays were my first present! A good beginning.

Walking on the sunny Qingdao Street, I did my best to enjoy the sunny day and the smiles.

The footprints I left on the sand of the beach were washed away by the seawater, leaving no trace!
